A 50-year-old New Jersey man admitted he arranged for about 1,000 truckloads of coal ash and construction debris to be illegally dumped at six locations in Warwick, N.Y., according to a report.
Joseph Wallace, of Sussex, pleaded guilty to six counts of unlawful disposal of solid waste on Wednesday, MidHudsonNews.com said.
Besides coal ash, the debris included wood, plastics, pieces of carpeting and wiring. It totaled more than 20,000 cubic yards.
The coal ash contains contaminants such as lead and mercury.
