Man 'critical' after being struck by car on Route 3: cops

SECAUCUS — A man was seriously injured early Sunday morning when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross Route 3, authorities said. 

The victim, only identified as a Secaucus resident, was hit at about 1:45 a.m. in the eastbound lane near Plaza Center, just west of Harmon Meadow shopping center, Secaucus Police Capt. Dennis Miller said. 

The victim appears to have crossed over a barrier and fence before he was hit, Miller said. 

He was brought to Jersey City Medical Center where he is listed in critical but stable condition, authorities said.
