3 police shootings weren't caught on body cams. This is why, cops say

Since June 1 last year, many Trenton police officers have been wearing body cameras – small devices that authorities tout can have a big impact on police work.

The state Attorney General’s Office said earlier this year, during another round of grants to police departments to buy them, they could promote, “Transparency, mutual accountability, and trust between police and the community.”

Since Trenton police officers have pinned them on the front of their uniforms, officers have shot at people three times, killing one man.

Neither encounter, though, was caught on a body-worn camera.
