Port Authority police arrest, charge man after finding him with 10 hypodermic needles

HOBOKEN — Port Authority police arrested and charged a man with a lengthy arrest record after officers found 10 hypodermic needles in his shirt pocket, authorities said.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Sept. 14, Port Authority police witnessed Jamal Brown, a resident of Newark, jumping a turnstile in the Hoboken PATH station, according to Joseph Pentangelo, public information officer with the Port Authority police.

After stopping the 26-year-old, police found 10 hypodermic needles in his shirt pocket, Pentangelo said.

Additionally, Brown provided officers with a fake ID from South Carolina, authorities said.
