Man describes journey from convicted felon to executive chef (PHOTOS)

TRENTON — Celebrity “Chef Jeff” Henderson has been on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, and NPR’s All Things Considered, to name a few.

In 2001, he became the first African-American Chef de Cuisine at Caesars Palace and eventually executive chef at several top restaurants including Cafe Bellagio, where he worked until 2006.

But when he told a small group of people Friday at the Rescue Mission of Trenton, that in his youth, he was a “cooker” – he was referring to crack cocaine.
