Feds reportedly seize more records in Paterson corruption probe

PATERSON — Federal prosecutors served more subpoenas on Paterson City Hall this week amid a probe into possible corruption in the recycling program and officials’ use of federal housing funds, a report says.

Domenick Stampone, Paterson’s corporation counsel, told NBC4 New York the city turned over the documents to the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office on Sept. 12. 

The agencies have sought records from Paterson’s city government five times in the past year related to an alleged scheme in which tire companies supposedly bribed city employees to let them dump thousands of tires in the city’s yard without paying required fees, the report …read more
