Woman gets $2.6M after crash with cop who ran red light while on phone

MOUNT OLIVE — A woman who was injured in a crash when a Mount Olive police officer ran a red light while on a cell phone has received a $2.6 million settlement from the township, according to New Jersey Law Journal.

Danielle LaLonde filed suit against Mount Olive, the police department and then-Officer Marianne Wurtemberg after the April 2012 crash.

Wurtemberg was driving her police cruiser north on Route 206 on April 25, 2012 when she collided with LaLonde’s Honda on the passenger side while it was crossing Route 206 from Flanders-Netcong Road, according to the suit.
