Paterson man among 3 arrested for assaulting fellow customs officers at Newark airport

A city man was among three people arrested Wednesday morning and charged with assaulting two fellow Customs and Border Protection officers at Newark Liberty International Airport, according to acting U.S. attorney William E. Fitzpatrick.

Parmenio I. Perez, 40, of Paterson; Tito Catota, 38, of Newark; and Michael A. Papagni, 32, of West Orange, have been charged with forcibly assaulting, impeding, intimidating, and interfering with the two victims engaged in their duties as customs officers.
