House blaze sends 8 to hospital, father airlifted with burns

KEANSBURG — A borough home was severely damaged and its eight occupants, including six children, were hospitalized following a large fire early Tuesday, police said.

The 37-year-old father was flown to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with burns and smoke inhalation after the fire broke out around 12:20 a.m. at a single-family home on the 100 block of Raritan Avenue, police said.

The other seven people were treated at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, Lt. Sandra Burton said. All have been released. The youngest child is in an infant, the oldest is 17, police said.
