Code Blue now takes on the chronically homeless | Opinion

Something miraculous has been happening in Cumberland County, and it is becoming contagious. Since 2013, ordinary individuals have performed extraordinary acts of compassion through the Cumberland County Code Blue Coalition. 

On the night of Dec. 9, 2013, Joseph Hanshaw, a homeless man living in Bridgeton, died after becoming entangled in the pull-down door of the Salvation Army Clothing bin. Police said the 50-year-old Hanshaw was apparently looking for a coat or a warm place to sleep when the incident occurred.
