A look at 9 reasons Penn State hazing death case fell apart

PennLive.com has produced a detailed look into the reasons why most of the serious charges filed against members of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Penn State University were thrown out by a Pennsylvania judge.

Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair dismissed most of the criminal charges filed against 18 Penn State fraternity brothers in the hazing-related death of Timothy Piazza, a Hunterdon County native in his sophomore year at the university.

Charges of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated were dismissed on Sept. 1 against eight defendants during a preliminary hearing. In addition, four facing single counts had their charges dismissed.
