North Wildwood boardwalk fire damages ice cream shop

NORTH WILDWOOD — A fire on the North Wildwood boardwalk was quickly contained Monday afternoon, though a Dairy Queen shop sustained minor damage, officials said.

The fire was at at 23rd Street and Boardwalk was reported around 4:30 p.m. and firefighters found smoke coming from a corner of the shop, according to a statement posted on Facebook by the North Wildwood Fire Department.

The blaze was located underneath the pier, extending into the building, according to officials.
