Jersey City Council on its way to OKing Sunday morning booze sales for Presidents Cup

Jersey City forbids restaurants from serving cocktails before noon on Sundays, but soon mimosa lovers at Liberty National Golf Course will be able to imbibe as early as 10 a.m.
The proposed change, up for final council approval next week, is intended to allow the posh golf course, which is hosting the 2017 Presidents Cup next month, to serve booze two hours earlier than anywhere else in the city during the six-day tournament.
Under the proposal, early hours for bloody Mary and Bellini sales would be limited to golf tournaments or a “special event directly related to playing golf.”
