Granddaughter charged in sinister plot to poison her grandmother

MORRISTOWN — A Succasunna woman is accused of trying to kill her 84-year-old grandmother by slipping antifreeze into her juice, authorities said Saturday.

Elise Conroy, 26, was charged Saturday with the attempted murder of her grandmother, with whom she lived, said Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp.

Knapp said Conroy was arrested early Saturday based on a continuing investigation into an attempt to poison her grandmother.

Conroy bought liquid antifreeze from a local store in late July, he said. He said in a news release that Conroy poured it into her grandmother’s juice and gave it to her.
