3 years in, PennEast asks feds to 'promptly' approve the pipeline

Just days after two new commissioners took their seats on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the PennEast Pipeline company asked the body to “promptly” approve the project that would carry natural gas from Pennsylvania to New Jersey.

The two new commissioners – Neil Chatterjee and Robert F. Powelson – give FERC a quorum, and on Thursday the agency said the board will soon begin voting on projects that were held up when the commission lost the quorum in February.

They were appointed by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
