This 11-year-old has the secret to growing a perfect, 2.14 pound Jersey tomato

PILESGROVE TWP. — In this contest at the Salem County Fair it’s size, not beauty that counts.

But 11-year-old Aaron Foote managed to produce both to win the Largest Tomato by Weight contest at the Salem County Fair.

With a gorgeous fruit that weighed in at 2.14 lbs. Aaron took first place out of the nine entries in the annual competition.

While the entries this year were big (and some downright ugly), they didn’t beat those in the 2016 competition.
