Local robotics team takes a first at international competition

ROBBINSVILLE — The robotics team from Robbinsville High School recently returned home after winning first place at the Indiana Robotics Invitational (IRI) in July.

IRI is an international robotics competition that brings together top high school robotics teams from around the country, Canada, and Mexico.

Robbinsville’s Team 2590, also known as Nemesis, won the championship title along with their partner teams from other high schools, called an alliance.

“With it being such a difficult event, winning this year was incredible, and our first time even passing the quarterfinals at the event,” said Mariko McMurtry, senior and head of electronics.
