Attempted armed robbery sends man to the hospital

BRIDGETON — Bridgeton Police are investigating a second shooting incident in the city within 72 hours.

Police were sent to Inspira Hospital in Vineland after receiving reports from the hospital that a gunshot victim was there.

The victim was walking by the trail between Lambdin Avenue and South East Avenue 12:48 a.m. Friday when a man accosted him and demanded that he gave him “everything” he had, police said. The suspect fired two shots at the man, which missed the victim.
