Arsonist gets 5 years in apartment blaze that displaced 26

WOODBURY — A Deptford man was sentenced to five years in state prison Friday for starting an apartment fire that displaced 26 people in 2016.

Artice Bryant, 27, pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of aggravated arson under a plea agreement.

No one was injured in the Feb. 9, 2016, fire at Chestnut Lane Apartments in Deptford Township. Investigators previously described the fire as an act of domestic violence.
