Shuttered Progresso plant that put 300 out of work getting new tenant

VINELAND — A week after the General Mills plant closed its doors last week and put 300 employees out of work, a new tenant may be moving into the building. In a statement released Wednesday night, Vineland officials announced that F & S Produce Company had been approved for a grant that would allow them to purchase the plant.

F&S Produce was approved for a Grow New Jersey award. For the next 10 years, the company will receive multimillion dollar tax credits, money that will allow the company, who has a plant in Rosehayn, to purchase the Elmer Road plant. …read more
