Powerball jackpot surges to $356M with no big winner in Wednesday drawing

The Powerball jackpot drought stretched past two months Wednesday night as no tickets were sold nationally that matched all the winning numbers.

That means the top prize for Saturday’s drawing leaped to $356 million with a cash option of $224 million, potentially the 21st largest in U.S. lottery history. Wednesday’s drawing was worth $307 million

Three second-prize tickets worth $1 million apiece were sold — one each in Iowa, Oregon and Texas.
