Funeral set for police sergeant killed in collision with deer

Funeral arrangements were set Thursday as family, fellow police officers and the community continued to mourn the passing of Pompton Lakes Police Sgt. Peter Kamper.

Kamper, 40, was killed early Wednesday when his motorcycle collided with a deer while he was driving home from a fill-in shift at the department where he was a 13-year veteran.

A wake will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moore’s Home for Funerals on Alps Road in Wayne. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, also at the funeral home, and Kamper will be buried at Laurel Grove Memorial Park …read more
