Dam removal will help bring Raritan River back to life

MANVILLE — The Department of Environmental Protection Thursday announced a plan to remove the obsolete Weston Mill Dam between the borough and Franklin Township.

The removal will be completed in cooperation with various partners. The dam removal will open a stretch of the Millstone River in Somerset County to migratory fish, enhance overall river health and improve safety for recreational use, Commissioner Bob Martin said during a press conference held at Lincoln Avenue Park.
