Trucker had fake plates, nearly 400 EZ Pass violations, cops say

FORT LEE— A truck driver and the owner of the truck were arrested Friday for numerous violations after the vehicle was pulled over at the George Washington Bridge, Port Authority spokesman Joseph Pentangelo said.

Police stopped Roger Lewis Jr., 49, of Jersey City, as he was heading eastbound around 11 a.m. Lewis was stopped after the automated sign in the EZ Pass lane indicated the toll had not been paid, Pentangelo said.  

Lewis produced expired registration, an EZ Pass transponder not assigned to the truck, and another EZ Pass transponder which showed 398 outstanding violations totalling $28,995 in tolls and fees. …read more
