Convicted sex offender accused of sexually assaulting child

NEWTON — A registered sex offender who moved from New Jersey to Pennsylvania was recently accused of sexually assaulting a child in Newton, police said.

James L. Roff, 32, of Archbald, Pa. 

James L. Roff, 32, of Archbald, Pa., was charged with second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Newton police said in a news release.

Authorities say the investigation by Newton police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office began in February 2017 following information received of an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile.
