Jersey Shore beach closed to stabilize dune from beach erosion

NORTH WILDWOOD — A section of the beach in North Wildwood will be closed for one more day as workers stabilize the dune after recent beach erosion.

The stretch of beach between between 3rd and 5th avenues closed at 7 a.m. Wednesday and will remain shut on Thursday, North Wildwood police said.

An orange safety fence has been put up to remind people to keep away.

The off-limits area near where three people have died since 2009 following sand collapses due to a drop-off in the beach.
