$15M heroin bust leads to 45-year sentence for leader of drug ring

CAPE MAY COUNTY – A man identified as a leader of a New Jersey heroin distribution ring with a direct connection to a Mexican drug cartel was sentenced Tuesday to 45 years in state prison.

Hector Ramos, 45, of Middle Township, was arrested in 2014 during “Operation White House,” which led to the seizure of $15 million in heroin in Cape May County. The distribution network included Cumberland County, authorities said.
