Video shows man's face fractured by police, attorney says

JERSEY CITY — A Jersey City man intends to sue the Jersey City Police Department and some of its officers over an incident — caught on tape — in which he says he was assaulted by police and hospitalized six days, his attorney said.

Through attorney Joel Silberman, Jonathan Sanders said he was sucker-punched in an unprovoked attack on May 5 when police responded to 39 Duncan Ave. on a report of an aggressive man walking a “large” pit bull without a leash and arguing with pedestrians.
