Union pickets company building Jersey City luxury condo tower

JERSEY CITY — The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) union picketed with a giant inflatable rat today in Jersey City to protest what they say are questionable practices of a subcontractor helping to build a 37-story building at 75 Park Lane.

“Simply put, this is another example of a project that exploits middle-class workers, uses cheap, non-local labor and banks on foreign investors for hundreds of millions of dollars in funding in exchange for U.S. visas,” said Bob Satriano, NRCC’s Director of Organizing.
