Obon Festival a chance to share culture, honor ancestors (PHOTOS)

UPPER DEERFIELD TWP. — For the 72nd year, the Obon Memorial Folk Dance Festival was held at the Seabrook Buddhist Temple.

The festival in Seabrook Saturday included traditional Japanese food and crafts along with the popular folk dancing and taiko drumming.

The event is a chance for those of Japanese descent to share their traditions with visitors and also an important time in which ancestors are honored.

The Obon Festival has been held each year at the temple since 1945.
