Indicted cop now facing $1M lawsuit for allegedly pistol-whipping man during car stop

CAMDEN — A man is suing Millville and a city police officer — who has been indicted on aggravated assault charges in another incident — for allegedly pistol-whipping him during an arrest two years ago.

Kenneth Harden, 28, of Millville is suing the City of Millville, officer Jeffrey Proffit, Millville Police Chief Jody Farabella and other unnamed officers for $1 million.

The lawsuit claims that Harden was pulled out of the car and punched repeatedly in the face and body by Proffit during a vehicle stop on July 16, 2015. Harden said he feared for his safety and ran. Once …read more
