Amateur N.J. beekeeper attacked by his own colony as swarm threatens borough

RAMSEY — An amateur beekeeper was attacked by his own colony Saturday before the bees swarmed throughout the neighborhood, sending at least two people to the hospital and prompting an alert by local emergency management officials.

The man, who was keeping a hive at his private residence on Martis Avenue, and his wife were stung multiple times and sent to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for treatment, according to a report by NorthJersey.com.
