Last call for alcohol-fueled shore brawls? | Editorial

It will take more than “Cops in Shops” to reduce a wave of teen violence and rowdiness, sometimes alcohol-fueled, in New Jersey’s shore towns this season. 

Veterans of Wildwood, Seaside Heights and other places with “party town”  reputations know that unsettling incidents among young people who rent beach houses are not rare. A disturbing new trend is how the problems have spread to quieter towns such as Margate, and to day-tripping “shoebies,” many too young to obtain lodging on their own.
