Hair-dye blaze reportedly leaves firefighters with yellow skin

PATERSON – Firefighters who fought a blaze Sunday at a chemical company that processes hair dye away from the fire with yellow skin, according to a report.

No injuries were reported in the fire at Passaic Color and Chemical Company on Paterson Street, but several firefighters were left with vibrant color on them and their equipment,according to NorthJersey.com.

Paterson Deputy Fire Chief Mike Fleming told the website the firemen were undergoing decontamination to remove the coloring and chemicals. Hazmat officials were also called to the scene due to the chemicals and the building was boarded up, the report said.
