Dial back the hardball over new Salem courthouse | Opinion

It should not be routine for a county government to defy an order from a ranking Superior Court judge, but it’s possible to see some middle ground in Salem County’s defiance of a command to build a new county courthouse.

“The county will not voluntarily participate” in arbitration sessions concerning the alleged unsuitability of the current courthouse, said Freeholder Director Bob Vanderslice.
