Vineland cop charged with taking drugs out of drop-off bin, report says

BRIDGETON — A Vineland police officer is facing charges after allegedly taking drugs out of a Project Medicine drop box at police headquarters, a published report said.

Richard Janasiak, 30, of Vineland is accused of taking drugs out of the box on multiple dates, the Daily Journal reports. He was charged this week with unlawful possession of prescription drugs and has been suspended with intent to be terminated, the report said.

The public is encouraged to use the boxes to safely dispose of unneeded prescription drugs.
