Jail guard's 4-month suspension for cell-phone photo upheld

CAMDEN — The four-month suspension of a Camden County Jail guard for being photographed with several other guards has been upheld by a the state Civil Service Commission. 

Isaac Reyes told officials during the inquiry into the 2014 incident that he did not know the photo was being taken with a cell-phone camera, according to documents filed with the commission’s ruling on May 3. However, the photo showed him kneeling making a gesture toward the camera. A racial slur was also superimposed on the picture.
