Phillipsburg opens up the drawing board for future of Union Square

The town recreation director and a group of students and friends were going to add window chalk to vacant storefronts along Phillipsburg’s South Main Street, an effort to spur the imagination ahead of a two-day public workshop that will discuss plans for Union Square in town.

“Since a lot of the buildings downtown look very bleak,” she said Thursday, “we assembled a little team to go … spark some creativity.”

The workshop runs 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at SoMa Downtown Grill, 62 South Main St., and continues 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Union Station, according to an …read more
