Highway Safety Video Production contest winner announced

It was “Halloween” in May for a Washington Township High School student on May 17 at the 14th annual Gloucester County Highway Safety Video Production awards presentations.

WTHS student John Micciche’s video was overall winner in the contest among 104 submissions by Gloucester County high school students and also won in the distracted driving category with a take-off on the 1978 John Carpenter horror film classic “Halloween,” featuring a white-masked and knife-wielding Mike Myers figure chasing a girl through a darkened forest. In Micciche’s half-minute video, the girl finally escapes from the woods, only to be run down by a texting driver.
