CLINTON — Attendants at the Riverside Service Station in Clinton posed for this advertising photo in the 1930s.

An article by John Leinhard on the University of Houston website notes that “Gas stations (in the 1930s) offered uniformed attendants; advertising told us they were good friends who wanted to serve our needs. ‘You can trust your car to the man who wears a star.’
