EPA preparing cleanup plan for West Deptford Superfund site

WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — Federal officials are devising a plan to clean up lead contamination found on nearly three dozen properties.

A proposed remediation plan is on its way for the township Superfund site that’s been undergoing testing and sampling since mid-2015, according to David Rosoff, Environmental Protection Agency on-site coordinator for the project.

Back in July 2015, a family residing in the township’s Birchly Court started a plumbing project and exposed soil contaminated with lead from old battery waste.
