N.J. teen who was missing resurfaces on 18th birthday

RARITAN TWP. — The township teenager who had been missing for six weeks resurfaced Thursday on his 18th birthday, police said.

Chase Merone, who left his home in the township on March 28 after an argument with his father, is now staying with his mother in Pennsylvania, according to a statement issued Thursday by Raritan Township Police Capt. Kevin Donovan.

The department’s detective bureau “made contact with Chase Merone today via telephone,” Donovan said in the statement. “Merone advised that he is fine and is currently staying with his mother in the Scranton, Pa. area.”
