Middle school teacher struck by car near school, rushed to hospital

UNION — A township middle school teacher was struck by a car and suffered a head injury Thursday while crossing a street near the school, police said.

The teacher at the Burnet Middle School on Caldwell Avenue, was struck at 2:02 p.m. while crossing Morris Avenue at Caldwell Avenue, authorities said.

They said the driver of the car, a 52-year-old woman, had just left the Union Police Department parking lot at 981 Caldwell Avenue, and was traveling north on that street.
