2-alarm fire damages garage, destroys vehicle at N.J. home

HILLSBOROUGH – A garage sustained serious damage in a fire on Thursday morning at a Matthew Road residence.

The fire was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. and upgraded to a two-alarm fire about 30 minutes later, according to those at the scene. The two-car attached garage was heavily damaged, and a vehicle inside the garage was destroyed.

Among the departments responding to the blaze were Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company stations 37 and 38, Flagtown, Millstone Valley and Elizabeth Avenue, both out of Franklin Township, and Hillsborough Rescue Squad.
