Bombing won't deter return of Seaside Semper Five race, organizers say

SEASIDE HEIGHTS — For its first two years in existence, the Seaside Semper Five race benefitting a U.S. Marine Corps charity ran under the radar out of Seaside Park, attracting a modestly impressive 2,000 runners and walkers by its third race in 2016.

But when a bomb exploded before the start of that race on Sept. 17, the charity run gained international attention as investigators tied the blast to similar ones detonated in New York and Elizabeth allegedly by the same man.
