Man brandishes steak knife inside Ocean restaurant, cops say

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — A 49-year-old Bayonne man was arrested Monday two days after he threatened to stab someone with a steak knife inside an Ocean Township restaurant, police said.

Ruperto Ozuna was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and weapons offenses for the May 13 confrontation inside the Red Lobster on Route 35, Ocean Township police Detective Lt. Timothy R. Torchia announced in a statement.

Torchia said Ozuna confronted two people he knew at the restaurant. During the confrontation, Ozuna grabbed a steak knife and threatened to stab one of the people, Torchia said.
