Virtual reality now getting social with Facebook

Does virtual reality (VR) have a social future? Facebook thinks so, and it’s making others believe it, too.

This week, Facebook debuted a VR app called Spaces that lets friends gather together even when they’re apart. They gather in a virtual room, where they can talk, show pictures, and draw objects in the air. Rather than looking lifelike, they show up as cartoon avatars.
