Fulop dominates fundraising in Jersey City mayoral race

JERSEY CITY — With just over six months until November’s city election, Mayor Steve Fulop continues to best his challengers’ fundraising efforts, with Fulop and his five council candidates collecting $154,803 in the first three months of the year.

The amount is more than twice what Bill Matsikoudis, the former corporation counsel, raised since Jan. 1 for himself and Rick Johnson, Matsikoudis’ Ward A council candidate. Matsikoudis’s team collected $58,017 in the first quarter of 2017, according to campaign finance reports made public today.

The third announced mayoral hopeful Charles Mainor, a former assemblyman, lags far behind the other two men. …read more
