With new extra innings rule introduced in rookie ball, Bobby Mitchell gives his say

TRENTON– Following the excitement of the World Baseball Classic, Major League Baseball is testing a new extra innings rule this year in two rookie level leagues: the Gulf Coast and Arizona Leagues.

Unlike the WBC and international baseball, which places a runner at second to start the 11th inning, the rule in the two rookie ball leagues will do that an inning earlier, as soon as the game goes to the 10th.
