Trenton police pin badges on 16 new officers (PHOTOS)

TRENTON — Sixteen new Trenton police officers had their badges pinned on their uniforms Wednesday night at a ceremony in City Hall.

The officers will officially graduate from the Mercer County Police Academy Friday.

Police Director Ernest Parrey Jr., who addressed the new officers with Mayor Eric Jackson, said the department decided to have the pinning ceremony in a nod to the days when Trenton had a police academy and officers experienced a similar tradition.
